Montagne de Bard between Bard-le-Régulier and Manlay

The Montagne de Bard, situated between the villages of Bard-le-Régulier and Manlay, is the highest point in the Pays Arnay-Liernais at approximately 555 meters. This limestone peak is shared by three communes: Bard-le-Régulier, Manlay, and Marcheseuil. From the summit, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of both the Auxois and the Morvan regions.

With a history stretching back to the Gallo-Roman era, this site served as a relay point between the ancient cities of Bibracte and Alésia. Later, during the Second World War, the German army constructed a blockhouse here.

Today, the summit is home to a Belvedere of Peace, which includes an orientation table and four commemorative steles, making it a place of both stunning scenery and historical reflection.
